Sidewalks are unsung heroes of public space: they are infrastructure of community and communication. They pave the way for people and ideas to move freely. However, we are currently living in a moment of such political division, where the movement of people is restricted, and the circulation of facts critical to addressing environmental, economic, and social problems are disputed. …Clouds… is a sculpture and participatory platform addressing the extreme ‘weather’ of contemporary politics, fueled by anger, protests, and strikes, yet equally defined by wellness and self-care movements. These opposing forces of rage and release hold circular movement in common. This piece was a permanent sculpture commission for the Jerome Foundation Fellowship at Franconia Sculpture Park.
